Youngstown Foundation announces $466K in grants
In total, the foundation gave $466,320 to eight organizations throughout the valley.

YOUNGSTOWN - The Youngstown Foundation is give out more than $400,000 in grants to eight organizations throughout the valley.
Three of these organizations will be getting $100,000 each, they are listed below.
- United Returning Citizens for renovations at the Youngstown Learning Center, which helps at-risk youths and those who have completed prison sentences get back into the workforce. Renovations began last month at the organization's offices at 611 Belmont Ave.
- United Way was also given $100,000 for its Youngstown Care Closet. This program stocks clothing, shoes, winter gear, hygiene products and more in "closet" spaces at six of the Youngstown City Schools buildings. It is working to serve all 14 of the area's schools.
- The Youngstown Business Incubator was given $100,000 for its plans to redesign and renovate its main building at 241 W. Federal St. The aim is to improve the organization's business-assistance programs.
Five other businesses were given grants also, they include:
- Youngstown CityScape for operational support - $73,000
- Economic Action Group for general operating support - $60,000
- STEM Is Us 2.0 for its administration - $15,820
- Salvation Army to build safety and security updates - $12,500
- Eversight for cornea transplants for local residents - $5,000
In total, the foundation gave $466,320.
