Lisbon man accused of running over man, backing into vehicles at Boardman bar
A Lisbon man is facing numerous charges after police say he ran over another man and backed into multiple vehicles in the parking lot of a Boardman bar early Saturday morning.
According to a police report, police were called to Quench Bar & Grill shortly after 2:00 a.m. Saturday in reference to a male who was driving recklessly and hitting individuals.
Police were told the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Dakota Robinson, had fled the scene northbound on market street in a black pickup truck.
Officers were able to find the truck and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. During this time, police say Robinson was losing control of the vehicle and eventually went off the road near the Boardman High School tennis courts where he drove into a ditch and got out of the truck with his hands up.
Police say Robinson smelled strongly of alcohol and was very talkative and argumentative, but officers were able to place him under arrest.
Officers then went back to Quench where a security worker told them there was a large group of seven people fighting in the parking lot and he went outside to break it up.
The security worker said another fight broke out soon after with Robinson allegedly throwing punches at another man followed by getting in the truck and backing into an SUV.
Police say Robinson then drove forward and ran over a male and struck a structure post followed by backing into another vehicle and driving away.
Officers spoke with the male who was ran over who told police he was struck in the leg, but was able to move away to avoid getting stuck between the post and the truck.
Police observed blood on the victim's knee and say he sustained injuries to his hand and arm, but refused medical treatment and said he was still able to walk.
Robinson is charged with OVI, possession of drugs and felonious assault. He also received traffic citations for reckless operation and failure to control. He's set to be arraigned Tuesday, July 9.
