Mahoning County in need of papers for Realty Building demolition

YOUNGSTOWN - The start of the demolition process at the Realty building in Downtown Youngstown is only days away. But before that can happen, the county needs more paperwork from the owner.
Preparations are beginning for the demolition that's supposed to begin Thursday. The stabilization process for the building has already started, and plans for demolition are final.
Sources tell 21 new that during the demolition process, a special coordinator will be on site overseeing asbestos removal. The building will be taken down brick by brick, be loaded into a lined truck and sent to a certified asbestos landfill.
According to Jeffrey Uroseva, chief building official for the Mahoning County building Inspection Department, the demolition process can't start until all of the needed documents are given to the county.
Uroseva said the county still needs supporting permits and an EDR from the city. He also said although these documents come from the city, it's the owners responsibility to turn in the papers.
Fire Chief Barry Finley said the owner reached out to him about the EDR, and will have it sent out before Thursday. Youngstown Mayor Tito Brown said he's watching the situation closely.
"We are meeting with our legal team if there is anything that still needs to happen for the owners, but its the owners responsibility its their building and we will check with the county building officials as well," said Brown.
21 news reached out to Chuck Shasho, the city's Deputy Director, and asked about the additional permits. He has not yet responded.
