Police in Youngstown are investigating after a house was shot up early Tuesday morning.

According to a police report, officers were called to a home on the 500 Block of West Warren Avenue shortly after 2:30 a.m. in reference to shots being fired into the home.

Police found a fragment of a bullet inside the microwave door, another partial bullet lodged into the wooden trim of a stairway and a suspected rifle bullet on the kitchen floor.

Police also found two spent 9mm shell casings outside the home and police were later called back to the home when one more bullet was found inside.

Officers spoke with the homeowner who told police she lives there with her 11-year-old grandson and said she had no idea who could have done this or what their motivation could have been.

The homeowner said her grandson does not have "beef" with anybody.

Police also spoke with the homeowner's granddaughter, who the homeowner told police was visiting from Michigan. Police say the granddaughter claimed not to be from Kentucky, but her ID showed an Illinois address.

No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time.
