Benefit dinner to be held in honor of murdered Leetonia teacher

A benefit dinner to honor murdered Leetonia teacher Michelle Long will be held July 13.
The event will begin at 2 p.m. and go until 6 p.m. at the VFW York Drexler Post in Washingtonville.
It's $12 Adults interested in coming to honor the teacher and for children its $6. Those under the age of five will be allowed to join for free.
Those in attendance will get a Ham dinner with parsley potatoes, green beans with bacon and onion, rolls, butter, and dessert. Drinks will also be provided.
During the dinner, there will be a 50/50 raffle and raffle baskets. However, if folks just want to donate in Long's name they can.
The money raised will go to helping Long's family cover expenses ever since her passing including raising her son Brandon, according to Shelly Morrison who organized the event.
Long was a math, STEM and industry teacher and coach at Leetonia High School since 2015.
She was found dead outside of her Carey Road home in Butler Township last November.
Her ex-husband 50-year-old William Long Jr. is accused of killing her and will go on trial in November.
