A longtime mental health counselor who dedicated his life to helping others in the Valley has died.

Jimmy McGaha, a mental health counselor for more than 40 years in the Valley, died Monday afternoon.

He was 75 years old.

McGaha opened his own counseling service business, Jim McGaha and Associates, in Girard in 1996. His wife, Karen McGaha said she would like to thank all of those who trusted and cared for him.

Funeral plans are pending at this time.
