A Youngstown woman was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to forgery and attempted telecommunications fraud.
Lenda West, 60, pleaded guilty to submitting a fraudulent honorable discharge form to apply for military benefits for $8,579.
The investigation found that West was actually dishonorably discharged from the military.
According to prosecutors, West submitted the falsified form in August 2023.
The maximum combined sentence would have been three years in prison but she was given probation.
West did not have a prior criminal record.
