Jewish Family & Community Services accepting shelf-stable food donations

Folks looking to help pitch in help their neighbors around the community have a chance to impact those in need the most - those living food insecurity.
Jewish Family & Community Services is now accepting donations of shelf-stable food items for their pantry.
This includes peanut butter, soap, protein bars and shakes, dry milk, pasta and pasta sauce, mini boxes for cereal and similar items are useful, according to a news release from the organization.
Donations can be dropped off at JFCS, 517 Gypsy Lane, during normal business hours.
1 in 6 people in the Mahoning Valley face hunger. This is especially true for senior citizens and families with children, according to the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley.
Several factors play a role in this, including unemployment, low wages, inflation and the rising costs of utilities play a role in this growing issue.
