OSHP releases results for July 26 OVI checkpoint in Boardman

BOARDMAN, Ohio - More than 500 drivers made contact with officers at an OVI checkpoint in Boardman over the weekend.
It was held on Market Street near Hillman in Boardman between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Of those 504 drivers that drove through the checkpoint, officers diverted nine for further investigation.
Of those nine, one was arrested for operative a vehicle intoxicated, three got summonses for driving under suspension, one got a summons for no operator's license.
Additionally, three citations were given for adult restraint, one summons was given for drug abuse, four citations were given for expired registration and one citation was given for defective exhaust.
The Mahoning County OVI Task Force is funded by a federal grant, which is administered through the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
