CAMPBELL, Ohio - A Campbell man has been arrested after police say he led them on a chase while riding a stolen motorcycle.

According to the police report, the incident started Monday evening just before 6:00 when police tried to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle near 6th Street near Blossom Avenue.

Police recognized the rider as 18-year-old Lashawn Bussey, who police say they've had previous encounters with. Police say 16-year-old female they also recognized was on the motorcycle as well trying to tell Bussey to stop.

According to the report, officers began pursuing the motorcycle at one point yelling at Bussey to pull over with him simply raising his thumb at the officer.

The chase continued, at times leading officers off the road into parking lots and even through backyards. At one point, the other person on the motorcycle was nearly thrown off of it.

Eventually, police say they lost sight of the motorcycle, but eventually found it abandoned on the 300 Block of 6th Street. Police were able to find Bussey hiding in a shed at a nearby home along with the passenger.

Bussey was placed under arrest, and the passenger was detained as well.

According to the report, the passenger told police she tried to tell Bussey to stop the vehicle, but he refused police say these actions directly restrained the passenger and caused a risk of harm to her.

Due to the passenger's age and Bussey allegedly not stopping when she told him to, he was charged with unlawful restraint and endangering children along with receiving stolen property and failure to comply with the signal or order of a police officer.

He was arraigned on these charges in the Campbell Municipal Court Tuesday morning.
