A Sharon teenager is being held on $250,000 bond after police say he confessed to repeatedly shooting his uncle along a city sidewalk.

According to a criminal complaint, detectives believe it was 17-year-old Jacari Kitt who was seen on security video shooting Robert Coleman at close range within the 800 block og South Oakland Avenue at 11:44 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say the video shows Coleman being shot several times while standing next to the alleged assailant, then being shot again after Coleman fell to the ground.

The triggerman then hopped into a car that pulled up before speeding away.

The report doesn’t give the victim’s condition, saying he was taken to a trauma center for treatment of wounds to his abdomen and extremities.

Police identified the suspect as Kitt and had the teen’s mother bring him to the police station where he confessed to the shooting, according to the complaint. Detectives say Kitt changed the clothes he was wearing during the shooting and got rid of them in a trash bag along Hull Street.

The complaint doesn’t reveal a motive for the shooting.

Kitt is charged as an adult facing five counts including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and being a minor in possession of a firearm without a license.

After being arraigned late Tuesday, another court hearing in the case is scheduled for August 14.

The Sharon Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact them at 724-983-3210 or Mercer County 911 at 774-662-6110.
