Crews expect to finish Austintown sound wall by end of October

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Austintown trustees checked the progress on the sound wall being built along Route 11 from Mahoning Avenue to New Road Wednesday.
The project began in April 2024 after six years of planning.
The 4,385-foot long and 16-foot-high noise wall was approved in 2018 by neighbors who signed a petition asking for the wall designed to reduce noise by five decibels.
Work on the sound wall is expected to finish up soon. Crews expect to finish the project by the end of October.
