Mother of murdered Struthers teen seeks early release from prison

YOUNGSTOWN - For the third time since she began serving a 15-year prison sentence in 2013, the mother of murdered Struthers teen Teddy Foltz is asking to be released early.
The attorney for 43-year-old Shain Widdershaim filed a motion for judicial release in Judge Scott Krichbaum’s court earlier this week.
Judge Krichbaum sentenced Widdershaim after she was convicted on charges of child endangering and obstructing justice in 2013 in connection with the beating death of her 14-year-old son Teddy Foltz.

Widdershaim's ex-boyfriend Zaryl Bush was convicted of murdering the child and is serving 33 years to life in prison.
Widdershaim has been unsuccessful in two previous judicial release motions filed in 2022 and 2023.
As of Thursday, the county prosecutor had not responded to the latest motion and no court hearing had been scheduled.
According to state records, Widdershaim will be eligible for parole three years from now.
