Date set for hearing to potentially charge suspect in south side homicide as an adult
Mahoning County Juvenile Court employees tell 21 News a probable cause hearing has been set for Monday, September 9 at 1:00 p.m. to potentially charge the 17-year-old suspect as an adult.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A date has been set for a hearing to potentially charge the suspect in a homicide on Youngstown's south side as an adult.
Mahoning County Juvenile Court employees tell 21 News a probable cause hearing has been set for Monday, September 9 at 1:00 p.m. to potentially charge the 17-year-old suspect as an adult.
The teen is accused in the shooting death of 19-year-old Zariyah Dothard on the 500 Block of East Judson Avenue back in June of 2023.
Police say the teen was turned in to police by family members and was arrested after police conducted multiple interviews including one with the teen.
Prior to the probable cause hearing, a pretrial hearing will be held August 19.
