A police levy will be on the November 5 ballot for Austintown voters after it was approved by trustees Monday evening.
The 2.4 mill levy would generate around $2.3 million for the township's police department.
Austintown Township Administrator Mark D'Apolito told 21 News in July that inflation and other market disruptions have occurred since the COVID pandemic.
The money from the levy will go towards operating and technology costs.
Police Chief Robert Gavalier told 21 News at the time that if the citizens can't afford the levy, the police department will continue to do the best they can.
A taxpayer with a $100,000 home would pay about $84 annually if passed.
