BOARDMAN, Ohio - The Boardman Local School Board is looking for applicants to fill the unexpired term of a board member who had resigned before the end of his term.

The Board is looking to fill the unexpired term of board member Frank Zetts, who resigned on Tuesday, August 6 due to personal reasons.

The Board will begin interviewing candidates soon and must name a replacement within 30 days. Zetts's unexpired term ends December 31, 2025.

If the Board member wishes to continue serving after that, they must run in the 2025 general election.

Zetts was elected to the Board in 2015 and began serving in January of 2016. According to his resignation letter, he is resigning due to personal reasons including the death of his mother.

In a press release, Board President John Fryda thanked Zetts for his service on the Board.

"As we begin a new school year, we are determined to find a replacement who will be dedicated to the success of the District and our obligations to the Boardman community, and who will keep the needs of our Spartan students and families at heart," Fryda said.

Anyone interested in applying should submit a letter of interest and resume to Board Vice President Vickie Davis at Vickie.Davis@boardmanschools.org.

The board could decide on the replacement as early as its meeting on August 26.
