Ohio authorities stop trucks carrying $14M drug cargo and nearly $1M cash along Interstate 70

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Heightened enforcement along one of Ohio’s busiest corridors has uncovered trucks hauling hundreds of pounds of drugs and nearly $1 million in cash.
Calling the seizures among the largest made in the state, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said task force agents and troopers found drugs after stopping a commercial vehicle on I-70 in Madison County on August 3.
The truck was carrying 300 pounds of methamphetamine, nearly 18 pounds of cocaine, and 30 pounds of marijuana. Officials estimate the total street value of the drugs is $14.6 million.

On Aug. 6, investigators stopped a truck they believed was involved in drug trafficking along I-70 in Clark County. More than $935,000 in cash was seized.
State officials say methamphetamine and cash seizures are believed to be among the largest in state history.
Commercial vehicle interdiction efforts along the I-70 corridor are being conducted by the Central Ohio OOCIC/HIDTA Major Drug Interdiction Task Force and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
