Judge hands down sentence for man convicted of deadly shooting in Youngstown
The charges stem from the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Ray'Mon Sims in April of 2023.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A man who had been scheduled to go on trial Monday for a deadly Youngstown shooting instead appeared in court to be sentenced.
Elijah May, 21, May appeared before Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Maureen Sweeney who sentenced him to six-to-seven-and-a-half years in prison.
May pleaded guilty last week to one count of involuntary manslaughter and one count of unlawful discharge of a firearm into a habitation.
The charges stem from the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Ray'Mon Sims in April of 2023. Sims was shot as he was driving near Tod Lane on Youngstown's north side. Soon after, the car crashed on Alameda Avenue.
