UAW files federal labor charges against Trump, Musk

DETROIT - The UAW has filed federal labor charges against Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk alleging that they made comments that threatened and intimidated workers.
The union alleges that during a conversation between the two men on X, formerly known as Twitter, they advocated for the firing of striking workers.
“I mean, I look at what you do,” Trump told Musk. “You walk in, you say, You want to quit? They go on strike, I won’t mention the name of the company, but they go on strike and you say, That’s OK, you’re all gone. You’re all gone. So, every one of you is gone.”
Under federal law, workers cannot be fired for going on strike, and the UAW says threatening to do so is illegal under the National Labor Relations Act.
The UAW has endorsed the Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
