Smoke from smoldering rags forced staff and residents of a diversion program facility in Youngstown into the street early Thursday.
Smoke was found inside a pod at the Community Corrections Association at Market Street and Willis Avenue at around 1 a.m.
More than 25 people were evacuated from the building while the Youngstown Fire Department put out the fire.
Investigators believe some oily rags were the cause of the smoke.
No one was injured.
