Suspect crashes car in Wick Park while fleeing from YPD

Youngstown Police say they’ll file charges against a man who crashed his car after fleeing from officers early Tuesday.

YOUNGSTOWN - Youngstown Police say they’ll file charges against a man who crashed his car after fleeing from officers early Tuesday.

Police say the suspect drove away when officers came to his home on Illinois Avenue at around 12:30 a.m.

Shortly after, the car crashed into Wick Park after jumping the curb off Elm Street.

The car rolled over before striking a tree.

Police say the man wasn’t seriously injured but was hospitalized for observation.

Investigators haven’t yet said why they wanted to talk to the suspect in the first place.
