Several fire crews in Columbiana County along with officers with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' (ODNR) Division of Wildlife and a K9 recovered a body from a hunting area in Highlandtown on Tuesday.

According to a Facebook post from the Calcutta Volunteer Fire Department, crews with the Calcutta, Highlandtown and Hanover Volunteer Fire Departments, as well as officers with ODNR's Division of Wildlife all worked together to recover a body from state game lands in Highlandtown.

Additionally, K9s from the Calcutta Fire Department and the Ohio Special Response Team, as well as a drone from the Hanover Fire Department assisted in the search and recovery.

In all, two drones and four K9s were utilized in the search.

According to a statement from ODNR, the search began after its officers noticed an abandoned vehicle had been sitting in a parking lot for several days.

All the agencies were able to work together to locate the body and bring closure to the family. You can see what those search efforts looked like in the slideshow above.
