VIDEO: Three injured, one flown to hospital after crash involving cement truck, dump truck in Canfield
Three people are injured and one person has been flown to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Canfield involving a cement truck.
Dispatchers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSP) tell 21 News the crash happened at the corner of SR-46 and Herbert Road in Canfield Wednesday afternoon.
Crews say a cement truck was traveling southbound on Route 46 and attempted to make a right turn onto Herbert Road when it shifted its load and overturned onto the dump truck carrying two people.
The cement truck was carrying 26,000 pounds of concrete when it crashed, according to OSHP.
The cement 23-year-old truck driver from Newton Falls had to be removed from his truck with the Jaws of Life and was flown to the hospital with serious injuries.
Two people from the dump truck, both aged 59 and 18 from North Jackson.
Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. The crash is under investigation by OSHP.
