DoubleTree hotel reopens following explosion at Realty Building
After an indefinite closure that lasted nearly three months, the DoubleTree hotel in downtown Youngstown is open for business once more.
As of Wednesday, August 21, the hotel is once again open for guests with a rebranding of its Bistro 1907 restaurant opening soon after.
This reopening comes nearly three months after the deadly explosion at the Realty Building that turned downtown Youngstown upside down on May 28, which forced neighboring buildings including the DoubleTree and Bistro 1907 to close indefinitely.
Additionally, the reopening of the hotel will come with new upgrades including the finalization of a new lounge on the second floor, which is set to open in the coming weeks.
The lounge, knows as "Windows on the Square" will provide a scenic view of Downtown Youngstown and offer a selection of wine, spirits and specialty drinks.
The hotel is also available to book events including baby and wedding showers, weddings, anniversaries and more. To book an event or a hotel room, you can call 330-259-1708.
"Just as the hotel turned the lights on in Downtown Youngstown in 2018, we are once again flipping the switch to illuminate a new era of downtown commerce. We have used this pause in our service to reimagine, retool, and regroup as a team. We are opening today with fresh ideas and a renewed commitment to Youngstown and its path forward," said Stambaugh Building President and Manager George Pantelidis.
