PA Liquor Board awards grants to 2 local schools to deter underage drinking

SHENANGO VALLEY - The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is awarding more than $3 million in grants to school districts to reduce underage and dangerous drinking.
Two local schools are included as grant applicants.
The Mohawk School District in Lawrence County will receive $44,000 to be used for enforcement patrols, school resource officer education programs and training to understand liquor laws.
Penn State Shenango is getting a $6,380 grant for virtual reality equipment and a Stop It driving simulator.
The Liquor Control Board awarded grants to 86 schools in all, spread across 41 counties. The Board regulates the distribution of alcohol in Pennsylvania, operating nearly 600 wine and spirit stores and licenses 20,000 alcohol producers, retailers and handlers.
