Mahoning Valley - With Steward Health preparing to close two of its Mahoning Valley hospitals within the next month, many people are left wondering how they should navigate issues like ongoing treatment.

A spokesperson for the company said the hospital is operating as usual.

Despite earlier reports saying the hospitals are no longer accepting patients, 21 News has been told directly from the Steward spokesperson that they are still accepting patients at Trumbull Regional Medical Center and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital.

That means the emergency department is still open and EMS will continue to transport patients.

If anyone has a procedure scheduled within the next few weeks, Steward Health says people should keep their appointments.

Should the hospitals end up closing, Steward Health and its staff will help patients find another doctor during that transition.

It is also important to note, that regardless of the company's financial issues it is imperative that people continue paying any money that is owed to the hospital.

It is unclear what Steward Health is going to do with their medical records, but should anyone want a copy of them, most, if not all patient records can be obtained through a digital charting system.
