Officials in East Palestine are investigating after one municipal employee was sent to the hospital with injuries.

Not much is known about the incident at this hour, but it involves an employee, a minor and a lawnmower at City Lake Park.

The incident resulted in the lawnmower going into the lake and the employee being injured.

"At this time, we are closely monitoring the situation and awaiting updates on the employee condition," a statement on East Palestine's official Facebook page reads.

"Our thoughts are with the injured employee and their family during this difficult time," it reads. "We are working diligently to gather all the facts surrounding the incident and are supporting local authorities measures are taken to address the situation."
