The clock is ticking for the owners of the failed Chill Can plant in Youngstown to pay the city along with MS Consultants over $1.5 million in damages.

According to court documents, the MJ Joseph Development Corporation, who planned to create 230 new jobs to manufacture self-chilling beverage cans has until the end of the day on Monday, August 26 to pay up.

In all, the company owes the city $1.5 million plus interest, and owes MS Consultants $322,907.54 plus interest.

If the company can't come up with the money by the end of the business day on Monday, the property will be foreclosed and put up for a sheriff sale.

Back in May, 21 News spoke to a resident of North Lane Avenue where the unfinished project sits who told us he was optimistic that another company could take over the property and do something with it.

You can read more about what that resident had to say and what led up to these latest developments in our related coverage below.
