Hot weather brings Valley school closures

POLAND, Ohio - With high temperatures predicted in the low 90s, some schools have canceled classes for Wednesday.
Holy Family School in Poland is closed for a second day due to excessive heat in the building.
Holy Family School Principal Todd Morris tells 21 News the school does not have air conditioning and the heat has become unbearable inside the building.
In addition, the Youngstown Academy of Excellence is closed on Wednesday due to the predicted high heat index.
Other closings include STEAM Academy of Warren and the Youngstown Preparatory Academy.
St. Nicholas Elementary is closed Wednesday in Struthers. When classes resume on Thursday, students will be permitted to wear shorts and t-shirts to help them keep cool.
