Prosecutors seeking long prison term for Howland man convicted of child pornography, sex with dog

HOWLAND, Ohio - Prosecutors in Trumbull County are asking for a long prison sentence for a man who was convicted earlier this week of possessing child pornography and having sex with his family's dog.
Twenty-seven-year-old Trent Addicot was convicted on Tuesday of six counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and five more counts of sexual conduct with an animal.
Sentencing for Addicot has been set for September 3, with prosecutors asking for him to receive an indefinite sentence of 36 to 40 years in prison.
In a sentencing memorandum, Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman calls Addicot "a child abuser, child pornographer, animal abuser and sexual deviant."
Video evidence showed Addicot engaging in sexual conduct with a dog five times, with one of them being in the presence of a two-year-old child. One of the videos of the dog lasted 15 minutes long and included close-ups.
Others showed Addicot performing a sexual act on himself inches away from that child's face.
"[Addicot] took the extra step to memorialize each of these horrible acts and save them in a hidden folder on his devices as trophies and mementos," Wildman wrote.
Additionally, investigators found that Addicot had downloaded violent pornography of young girls being raped by adults.
Addicot will learn his fate for his crimes on September 3.
