Police: Austintown woman caught driving with child, drugs in car
A 19-year-old Austintown woman has pleaded not guilty to child endangering and drug charges after a broken taillight led to her arrest in Beaver Township.
Police say they spotted they pulled over a compact car after noticing the broken light and a torn temporary license tag in the rear window on Woodworth Road late Wednesday.
The driver, Gionna George, did not have a license, registration, or proof of insurance. In addition, police say they found bags of marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
Police say a little boy wearing stained clothing was in a filth-embedded car seat and it appeared that he hadn’t bathed in a while, according to the report.
George, who was arrested after officers said she failed a field sobriety test was charged with OVI, child endangering, drug abuse, two felony counts of drug possession, as well as traffic violations.
The child was turned over to Children's Services.
She was arraigned on Thursday and is due back in court next month
