Propane leak forces school bus to pull off the road in Mercer County

Passers-by who saw what appeared to be a school bus in a Mercer County ditch had no reason to be concerned.

JEFFERSON TWP., Mercer Co., Pa. - Passers-by who saw what appeared to be a school bus in a Mercer County ditch had no reason to be concerned.

A call was made to 9-1-1 dispatch that the bus went off Route 62 in Jefferson Township just before 8 a.m. Monday. The caller didn’t know if there were any students on the bus.

State Police tell 21 News there were no passengers on the bus… just the driver who pulled off the road after discovering a propane leak.

The bus, operated by Student Transportation of America, was towed away.
