Suspect in abduction case pleads not guilty

The man suspected of abducting two children in Warren has plead not guilty to the crime.
Antonio Carter was caught through a network of surveillance cameras being used by more and more communities helped authorities safely recover two children allegedly abducted from Warren by their father.
A woman told Warren Police she was stranded at a bar on Mahoning Avenue late Monday after her ex-boyfriend, Carter, forced her out of his pickup truck and drove away with their two children, ages 2 and 4.
The woman was able to get a ride to a laundromat on West Market St. where she called 911.
According to a police report, Carter’s truck was spotted by one of the city’s Flock cameras at Summit Street and Mahoning Avenue.
Flock cameras are designed to capture images of license plates and pinpoint a vehicle's location.
Less than one-and-a-half hours later, Akron’s Flock cameras detected the truck in that city, not far from Carter’s home.
Police found the children safe at their grandmother's house in Akron, where Carter showed up and was arrested.
Trumbull County dispatchers tell 21 News the children were found just moments before an Amber Alert was going to be issued.
Carter is in the Summit County Jail with a bond of $20,000. He's also been determined to be a flight risk.
He's been charged with two counts of abduction and traffic violations.
His next hearing is Oct. 3.
