WARREN, Ohio - One of three people convicted in a deadly arson in Warren that claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl has been re-sentenced.

Zackary Gurd was originally sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for his role in the arson back in August. However, the sentencing had to be redone because Judge Cynthia Rice did not properly advise him on the conditions of his parole should he be released.

The length and terms of Gurd's original sentence did not change.

Gurd was one of three people involved in a deadly arson that killed 16-year-old Chassidy Broadstone back in January of 2023. The two others convicted of the crime were Brendan Daviduk and Patricia Zarlingo, who were both sentenced earlier in the summer.

Police say Gurd was the one who brought a can of gasoline to the home that started the deadly blaze.
