It's not 'Jeopardy!', and it's not Trivial Pursuit. But no matter what you compare it to, 'Trivia With a Twist' is a game-changer for Potential Development School in Youngstown.

"We wanted to have something that people would want to go to even independently of raising that money, and just have a great time," said event co-chair Eddie Muransky.

Potential Development is a place where kids on the autism spectrum not only learn, but learn to thrive.

"They fit in, they're with their friends, there's all the support there for the families as well which is a very important thing because parents of those children are trying every day to improve their life and make sure they have what they need, and that's what Potential Development provides," explained co-chair Deloran Thompson.

Thursday's fundraiser at The Lake Club in Poland also helps support teachers and hire additional personnel.
Every dollar counts, with one in every 36 American kids diagnosed with autism.

"Potential Development is maxed out, they have a wait list, so all the funds raised here go directly to improving the building, hopefully an expansion soon, all the supplies necessary to support students with autism," Thompson said.

As the interest in Potential Development and its services has grown in recent years, so has the interest in the fundraiser that helps support it.

"They continue to respond, we've added the costume contest last year, again a few of those touches to really get people into it and to have some fun," Muransky said. "This and pizza cookoff are the two real tentpole events for Potential in the course of the year."

Setting an important tone for Potential Development to do more important work.
