GIRARD, Ohio - The City of Girard has received a loan over over $686,000 for water improvements throughout the city.

According to a press release, the city received a 20-year loan of $686,555 at 3.39% for improvements to two water booster stations.

These improvements include five pump replacements, as well as a system-wide Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) equipment upgrade to increase capacity and replace aging equipment.

This loan is part of $11.2 million in financing from the Ohio Water Development Authority for wastewater and drinking water improvements. Girard is one of five cities in Ohio to receive a loan in this round of funding.
