Youngstown Peace Race to close roads on Sunday

YOUNGSTOWN - The Youngstown Peace Race, an annual event celebrating peace, running, and the beauty of Mill Creek Park, will temporarily close several roads on Sunday, October 6, 2024.
To ensure the safety of participants and spectators, the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic, cyclists, pedestrians, and the public from approximately 6:00 AM to 1:30 PM:
- Tod Avenue
- Weaver Road
- Price Road
- Calvary Run Drive
- Milton Ave. (at Calvary Run Drive intersection)
- West Glacier Drive
- W. West Drive
- West Cohasset Drive
- Cascade Road (High Drive)
- Valley Drive (entrance at E. Park Drive)
- East Park Drive
- Chestnut Hill Drive
- West Newport Drive
- Old Mill Drive
- Lanterman’s Mill
- East Newport Drive
- Kreider’s Entrance
Drivers are urged to exercise caution and be aware of pedestrian and bicycle traffic on park roads, which may be shared during the race. Pedestrians and cyclists should also be mindful of vehicular traffic and follow safety guidelines.
The Youngstown Peace Race, founded in 1975, has attracted runners from around the world for decades.
This prestigious event honors the vision of its founder, Jack Cessna, who sought to unite people through running and promoting peace.
