For the second year in a row, the Columbiana Witch Walk has returned to Main Street in downtown Columbiana.

Last year's inaugural walk caused a bit of controversy in the city, with some residents saying the walk promoted witchcraft and occult activity.

This year, the Columbiana County Chamber of Commerce's executive director says there were still a few people who turned their nose up at the event, but that the witch walk is just a fun way for the community to enjoy the season and promote local businesses.

"Everything simmered down from what had been going on, we did have a few people last night who seemed to have some concerns still, and I just reassured them that it's a family friendly event, we've got children, parents and grandparents celebrating and shopping," said Columbiana County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Bridget Wolsonovich.

The witch walk offers pet costume contests, witch dancing, vendors and crafts, a broom decorating concert and live music.

Full Circle is expected to take the stage at 6 p.m., and there is also a 'Garden of Eden,' which features beers on tap from local breweries like Ill Will Brewery, Sundog and Birdfish.

The event runs until 9 p.m. on Main Street in Columbiana.
