Riding a temperature roller coaster over the next week

It will be a nice but cool afternoon to get outside for any fall activities. High temperatures will reach near 60 degrees under mostly sunny skies before falling back into the mid-30s overnight.
Some frost could be around to start Friday morning, but the passage of a warm front will allow for a much milder second half of the day. Some more sunshine will help temperatures jump into the upper 60s, and it will remain pleasant for high school football Friday evening.
More unsettled weather will arrive this weekend as an area of low pressure moves into the region. Skies will turn mostly cloudy late Saturday with a slight chance for a shower or two. Rain will become more likely Saturday night into Sunday.
Showers will still be possible on Monday as a cold front slides off to the east. Much cooler air will rush in behind the front, and high temperatures will only reach the low 50s during the first half of next week.
