Questions over service pulling out of Trumbull Regional Medical Center

TRUMBULL COUNTY, OH - There has been concerns over Insight Health taking over Trumbull Regional and Hillside Rehabilitation Centers.
Now, 21 news received calls from patients of the Family Practice Residency clinic worried about the future of a family practice inside Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
The Family practice is operated by Western Reserve Health Education. The director of WRHE said patients are being moved, but no services are being cut. In fact, there are plans to expand internal medicine at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
When Insight took ownership of the Trumbull hospitals days ago, the company said they don't plan to cut any services.
In an interview Wednesday, Dr. Rany Aburashed, Chief medical officer at Insight Health Systems, said no services are being taken away.
“I think there's a lot of people who are very hurt, very worried, and very nervous. You know I can't calm every fear that they have, but I can just tell you we're not downsizing, we're not scaling it down, we're not taking away service lines,” said Aburashed.
That's why, when patients of the Family Practice Residency clinic were told its closing on October 25, they were worried. Insight, along with Western Reserve Health Education, said it's a misunderstanding .
In fact, Insight went further, saying "The Trumbull residency clinic is not closing. It is currently open and Insight plans to keep it open."
So where's the confusion? Kim Howe, director of WRHE, said because of faculty going on leave, the handful of Family practice medicine clients that went to Trumbull regional medical center are being moved to the facility on Belmont Avenue. Most of the family practice medicine clients were already at the other location.
This does not mean the clinic is pulling out of the hospital. In fact, the clinic and internal medicine in the hospital is expanding.
Howe said she spoke to Insight, and the company encouraged expanding and enhancing the clinic.
