LISBON, Ohio - An East Liverpool man is going to prison for 8 to 12 years after being convicted of stabbing a woman with kitchen knives in 2022.

That’s the sentence handed down to 52-year-old Joseph Boyer following his conviction Tuesday on several felony charges including felonious assault and domestic violence.

Investigators say Boyer stabbed a woman with a 12-inch chef's knife and a 9-inch serrated knife on July 7, 2022.

Boyer went on trial Monday in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court after an appeals court earlier overturned Boyer's guilty plea in the case.
