Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Austintown Police Department are at Meander Reservoir Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation. 

The investigation is a continuation after a human skull was found on October 1 along the bank of the reservoir.

Officials at the scene tell 21 News that human skeletal remains were found at the site during Thursday's search. The remains found were covered by dirt.

Austintown Police Chief Bob Gavalier tells 21 News that search is taking place while the water level is lower in the reservoir. 

Cavader dogs have been brought to search the southeast shore of the reservoir near the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80  

At this time, it is unknown how long the skull had been at the site.
