Mercer Food Bank's Truck-Full of Hope campaign kicks off at Diehl Chevrolet

Mercer County, Pa. - The Mercer County Food Bank's 7th annual Truck-full of Hope food drive is officially underway.
Through December 15th, Diehl Automotive of Hermitage will accept donations of non-perishable food items to fill a truck in the Diehl Chevrolet showroom.
"We greatly appreciate the owners and employees of Diehl Chevrolet in Hermitage for hosting this annual event that helps fill plates of our neighbors facing hunger during the holiday season," said Rebecca Page, Executive Director of Mercer County Food Bank.
The food drive collected 2,287 pounds of food in 2023, all distributed to Mercer County families in need ahead of the holidays.
"So far this year, MCFB has distributed 2.6 million pounds of food, which is 14% increase compared to last year, and we expect the lines for food assistance to continue to grow as we progress through the winter months," Page continued.
People can donate all non-perishable food items. Some of the food bank's most needed items include canned vegetables, canned meats, peanut butter, jelly, noodles, pasta sauce, and cereal.
Diehl Chevrolet is located at 2705 E. State Street in Hermitage.
