Hubbard High School celebrating French culture with French Fest

HUBBARD, Ohio - Students of Hubbard High School will have the opportunity to experience French culture through the second annual French Fest.
Taking place in the high school gym between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. November 8, students will be able to participate in games, educational activities and fun challenges.
This event focuses on five regions of France: Bretagne, Paris, Grand Est, the Loire Valley and Provence. Each of these regions will have a station representing a unique cultural experience.
- Bretagne, known for its crêpes, will be offering crêpes made by French 4 students.
- The activity for the Paris region will feature selfies with the Eiffel Tower, artwork inspired by the Louvre and a caricature drawing challenge.
- In Grand Est, students can visit a traditional Christmas market and sample pretzels with cheese, a regional favorite.
- The Loire Valley, know for its castles, will feature an obstacle course where winners will be awarded honorary "knighthoods".
- Provence will feature fresh croissants, lavender sachets, and information about the humane tradition of bullfighting unique to the region.
This event, spearheaded by French 4 students, aligns with the American Association of Teachers of French's National French Week.
This year's theme, Le français -- langue globale (French - the global language) aims to celebrate all things French in schools, communities and AATF chapters across the United States.
