Howland woman killed in Sunday morning fire at duplex identified
The identity of the woman who died in an early morning fire in Howland Township has been identified.
Howland Fire Chief Ray Pace told 21 News that 47-year-old Jenifer Hall died in the fire at a duplex in the 7600 Block of Dawson Drive shortly after 7 a.m. Sunday for smoke coming out of the residence.
According to a press release, crews found heavy fire conditions when they arrived and performed an "aggressive interior attack" on the fire. An interior sweep of the duplex revealed one deceased woman.
Chief Pace says he does not yet have an estimate for damages to the duplex.
Crews from Cortland, the Youngstown Air Reserve Station (YARS), Vienna Township and Brookfield Township all assisted at the scene.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Ohio State Fire Marshal.
