One of two suspects in the murder of a Warren mail carrier back in March of 2024 is asking to be released on bond.

According to a filing in federal court, Thomas Sledge (pictured above on left) has asked the court to revoke its decision to detain him and release him on bond pending the resolution of the case.

Sledge is one of two suspects accused of shooting and Jonte Davis in his mail truck on the 600 Block of Olive Avenue.

He and co-defendant Kaprise Sledge (pictured above on right) are charged with one count each of murder of an officer or employee of the United States and one count each of discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence.

If convicted the two could face a maximum sentence of life in prison.

In the meantime, both suspects remain in federal custody and are awaiting a trial date on December 9.
