Junior Civic Leagues Cinderella Ball returns after five-year hiatus
The Junior Civic League of Youngstown will present its 65th Annual Cinderella Ball after a five-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The purpose of the Cinderella Ball is to raise money for scholarships for African American students in Mahoning County. Since its inception, the Junior Civic League has awarded nearly $700,000 in scholarships.
“We are so excited to be back after a five-year hiatus, and we look forward to bringing this back to where we used to have 25 debutantes. So we want to build this up, and we need the community's support,” said Jenita Gellespie, Chairman of the Cinderella Ball.
There will be 10 debutantes participating in this year’s Junior Civic League Cinderella Ball, representing Austintown Fitch, East High School, Rayen Early College, Ursuline, and Mooney.
The 65th Annual Cinderella Ball is on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 5:30pm at Mr. Anthony's Banquet Center. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the Junior Civic Leagues website.
