Warren woman pleads guilty to abandoning dogs in 'deplorable' home
WARREN, Ohio - A Warren woman pleaded guilty Thursday to a charge of abandoning animals after authorities say she left two dogs in an abandoned home in Warren this past October.
Hannah Bishop, 21, was handed a 180-day suspended jail sentence, and placed on probation for a year. During that time, Bishop is prohibited from owning animals.
Charges were filed after the Healthy Heart and Paws Project received a call from Warren Police about two dogs left in an abandoned home on Forest Street North West.
Healthy Heart and Paws CEO and President Jason Cooke found two dogs left in the home strewn with trash, feces, and urine.
Cooke also identified a half-eaten cat in the home.
According to Cooke, the dogs suffered from hair loss due to fleas and were underweight. Both dogs were taken to the Healthy Heart and Paws shelter.
