Quiet weather will persist through sunset on Wednesday, and enjoy it while it lasts, more snow and cold are on the way.

Tuesday evening will feature a mostly cloudy sky with low temperatures falling to the low 20s with wind chills in the teens.

Wednesday morning stays dry but snow showers will gradually build in later in the day. Snow will ramp up Wednesday night into Thursday morning dropping a range of 1-3 inches for most, there may be a hair less in our southern viewing area.

Watch for slick spots on your Thursday morning commute, and snow will remain likely through the end of the day. The cold will also be an issue on Thursday with wind chills in the single digits in the morning and not getting out of the teens all day.

Flurries will remain the call into Thursday evening with lake-effect snow showers taking over for our northern viewing area. There likely will be some additional accumulations, mainly north and east of I-80.

A few flurries or light snow showers can't be ruled out Friday, but the cold will once again make headlines Friday with highs in the upper 20s and wind chills in the teens. Snow won't be an issue for the Christmas Parade and light-up night in downtown Youngstown but prep for temperatures in the 20s and wind chills in the teens.

This weekend will be much quieter, with maybe some flurries on Saturday afternoon and high temperatures climbing to the low 40s on Sunday.
