Home Health Care is expensive,  and is often a barrier for families looking to keep their loved ones at home.

Francesca Hodge, the owner of Humble Helping Hands, has been providing private home health care for years and is hoping that make that service more affordable with a non-profit foundation.

"Hopefully with grants and donations we could get people home so that way they don't have to pay anything.", said Hodge.

The Foundation aims to supply discounted services for home health care, and medical supply kits to families caring for loved ones at home.

On Monday, Francesca, along with family, friends and community leaders cut the ribbon on a new building along Youngstown-Poland Road, that will serve as a home base, but also additional services in the future.

"I actually want to do some training her as well. Once we get the foundation running, we're hoping to have exercising programs in here for them.", Hodge explained, adding that the one-on-one fitness program would be an alternative for elderly folks looking to avoid the busy gym environments.

Struthers Mayor Cat Cercone Miller says this will be a big boost to the city and surrounding communities.

"We're very excited that she chose Struthers as her home. We obviously have an older population in the city, so it's something that we thing really fits what we have going on here--and her passion is something that we strive for.", the city leader emphasized.
